Understanding Osteoporosis: Why Bone Health Matters

As we age, maintaining bone strength becomes more important than ever. Explore our resources and expert-backed tools to learn how to protect your bone health and stay strong at every stage of life.

Postmenopausal Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a silent disease. Many women don’t know they have it. Yet it is a leading cause of bone fractures in postmenopausal women due to the hormonal changes that occur during and after menopause. Of the estimated 10 million Americans with osteoporosis, 8 million are women.

This working group is comprised of a unique expert network of patient advocacy organizations, as well as orthopedists, endocrinologists, rheumatologists, PCPs, OBGYNs, nurse practitioners, and other relevant medical specialists.

The working group is setting an ambitious target: to lower the number of osteoporotic fractures by 20% within the next decade. To achieve this goal, members will develop and amplify patient-centered and healthy aging empowerment programs.
